n Marseille, becoming a marine firefighter begins long before the first emergency response. At the Marseille Naval Fire Battalion's training school, candidates face a series of physical, technical and psychological challenges designed to assess their ability to join this military unit.

From running and pull-ups to aquatic exercises, height challenges and initial operational drills, this photographic report explores the demands of a selection process where endurance, self-control and teamwork are essential.

Through gestures, expressions, moments of waiting and bodies pushed to their limits, this series focuses less on individual performance than on the gradual transformation of candidates into future marine firefighters. An immersion into the first stages of a commitment where military discipline meets the calling to save lives.
