L’exil sans fin

When the Abkhazian war ended in 1993, this breakaway region of Georgia was controlled by pro-Russian separatists. 250,000 Georgians were forced to flee in haste. Some of them ended up in the sanatoriums in the west of the country, hoping to return home quickly. A generation later, the Russian specter is once again hovering over Georgia, the sanatoriums are now dilapidated, but the internally displaced people are still there. David Taché went to meet them.
