Ukraine, Pavlohrad, 2026-01-29. Destroyed civilian and military vehicles are seen along the road toward Donetsk eastern Ukraine after being struck by Shahed type attack drones amid the ongoing war following Russias full scale invasion launched in February 2022. The vehicles show signs of blast damage fire impact and fragmentation consistent with loitering munition strikes. Shahed drones used extensively by Russian forces have targeted infrastructure supply routes and transport corridors across eastern and southern Ukraine. Ukraine, Dnipro, 2026-01-28. Portraits of wounded soldiers from the 25th Separate Airborne Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces photographed inside military hospitals in Dnipro, eastern Ukraine. The servicemen were injured during combat operations on the eastern front amid ongoing fighting against Russian forces. Some soldiers are pictured lying in hospital beds with visible amputations, bandaged limbs and surgical scars, while others sit upright during recovery sessions. Medical staff move through corridors and treatment rooms as rehabilitation continues. Dnipro has become a key medical hub since the beginning of the full scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, receiving casualties evacuated from front line positions in Donetsk and surrounding regions. The portraits document the physical consequences of high intensity warfare and the human cost of artillery shelling, drone strikes and trench combat. Despite severe injuries, several soldiers maintain direct eye contact with the camera, reflecting resilience and determination during recovery. The series highlights the impact of prolonged conflict on Ukrainian servicemen and the strain placed on the national medical system as the war enters its third year. Synopsis :
