Synopsis :

La Société Protectrice des Animaux (SPA) compte aujourd’hui 12 dispensaires répartis sur le territoire français, et un 13ᵉ ouvrira prochainement en Guyane. Ces structures permettent aux personnes en situation de précarité, incapables d’assumer les frais vétérinaires, de faire soigner leurs animaux de compagnie.

Les dispensaires SPA fonctionnent exclusivement grâce aux dons, car les soins y sont entièrement gratuits. Cependant, pour en bénéficier, les propriétaires doivent répondre à certains critères, notamment ne pas être imposables sur le revenu.

La ville de Lyon a récemment inauguré un nouveau dispensaire, mieux adapté à l’afflux de demandes. Depuis son ouverture en septembre, plus de 1 600 animaux y ont déjà été pris en charge, soulignant l’importance de ces structures pour a protection animale et le soutien aux familles modestes.
